GUARDING AGAINST THE CONSEQUENCES OF INFECTIOUS – IMPORTANT EFFORTS

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

It is therefore most important that every effort be made to ensure the complete excretion of toxins in all cases of infectious disease. The following three main points must be observed:

Elimination through the skin. The patient should be encouraged to perspire by applying hot packs, taking hot showers etc. The Kneipp treatment might also be used.

Elimination through the kidneys. This can be encouraged by means of a simple kidney remedy, such as tea made from goldenrod or parsley, or any other natural remedy which acts to stimulate the kidneys. Onion poultices are also effective for this.

Elimination through the bowels. Fever usually tends to dry up the bowels. To stimulate movement, use simple natural remedies, for example linseed tea, psyllium seed, manna stick tea (Cassia fistula), soaked figs or prunes. A diet consisting solely of fruit juice is also excellent. While the infectious disease lasts, it is advisable to refrain from eating protein; nothing but fruit juices and vegetable juices is indicated.

If you pay close attention to these three points, you can avoid the complications often experienced as a result of ineptly treated infectious disease.

INFLAMMATION OF THE EAR (OTITIS)

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

An earache should never be taken lightly as serious illness can result from it. First of all, apply a poultice to the neck; even if it is only onions the effect will be beneficial. Do not use chemist’s ear drops; rather, go on a fruit diet and avoid all highly seasoned and heavy foods for a few weeks. See your doctor for syringing, which may be done with infusions of ribwort, camomile, marigold or lemon balm.

If a throbbing sensation is felt deep down in the ear, or if the pain is severe on one side, particularly in the right ear, and gets worse at night, Calcarea carbonica 6x (Calcium carbonicum Hahnemann) will help to soothe it. The patient should receive competent treatment at this stage, because inflammation of the middle ear {Otitis media) can develop, and this is more serious than many people think. If the pus, instead of breaking through the eardrum and draining from the ear canal, actually perforates the thin bone wall discharging into the cranial cavity, it may spread to the mastoid air cells and reach the covering of the brain and the brain itself – resulting in a critical condition.

Improperly treated infection of the middle ear can result in meningitis. Serious problems of the ear and the middle ear are often created by incompletely treated or suppressed infectious diseases such as scarlet fever, measles, whooping cough, diphtheria, influenza and tonsillitis, because they scatter their viruses and toxins throughout the body. Hence, if a relapse is to be avoided, elimination of the toxins is of the utmost importance. Improper treatment can affect the auditory nerves and cause loss of hearing; these nerves may degenerate or atrophy altogether and lead to complete deafness.

HEADACHES – THEIR CAUSES AND TREATMENTS 2

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Headaches can also be caused by insufficient blood supply to the brain. In this case we recommend both Petadolor and Ginkgol biloba, also known as maidenhair tree. The leaves of this tree] contain active properties that can do wonders for the cerebral blood supply.

Physical therapy should not be forgotten either. Relief is often obtained from warm showers directed on the nape of the neck and the spine, as well as massaging with Toxeucal Massage Oil. If the headaches stem from an upset digestive system, warm showers directed on the stomach are the answer to alleviating the pain.

Onion, horseradish or cabbage leaf poultices can be applied to the back of the neck in order to combat headaches successfully.!

Whatever you do, natural treatments and remedies will prove more effective than chemical drugs, which merely dull the pain. It is of fundamental importance to find the cause of the headache and to treat it accordingly.

WHOOPING COUGH

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Some people still consider whooping cough to be a minor ailment, giving little thought to the distressing, hacking cough. It is, however, very important to give special attention to whooping cough, since it can cause serious complications if it is not treated properly, and may lead to permanent damage. There are a number of herbal and homoeopathic remedies for whooping cough and parents should not fail to make use of these natural treatments. Although no specific medicine exists that arrests and cures the illness completely in a given time, these remedies can reduce the intensity and duration of the attacks. First, the toxins of the pathogenic organisms have to be eliminated, as in all infectious diseases. It is also useful to do something about the patient’s physical weakness so as not to encourage other infections. Whooping cough is usually followed by another illness, which is why it is important to build up the patient’s general state of health as a prevention. In milder cases, the spasms will disappear after a few days.

SKIN CARE

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

For cleansing the skin it is best to use a mild, super-fatted soap, ‘baby soap’. Remember, the daily use of soap is not absolutely necessary. After bathing the baby a good skin oil should then be applied, but one that does not contain strong essential oils. One of the best is St John’s wort oil with a tiny amount of mandarine, orange or lemon oil added {Bioforce Body Oil).

It is enough to oil the baby’s whole body twice a week. The legs may be oiled every day, using St John’s wort oil. Oiling is always better than powdering, as powder blocks the pores, absorbs the urine and encourages the growth of bacteria. Experience has shown that oiling is the better way and that it also prevents sores. If redness or soreness should appear, rub the skin lightly with a good woolfat cream, either genuine lanolin or Bioforce Cream, which also contains St John’s wort oil.
